I studied bioinformatics at the Ludwig-Maximilians Universitaet Muenchen and the Technische Universitaet Muenchen. My courses covered Informatics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry in varying proportions.
In addition, I worked at the chair of Biometrie und Bioinformatik of Ulrich Mansmann at the Institut fuer medizinische Informatik, Biometrie und Epidemiologie(IBE) Muenchen for three years. My work included Microarray and NGS data analysis and programming in Perl, Python and R. The topic of my Master's Thesis was "Advanced insertion detection strategies in NGS data".
During the project I worked at Genetwister Technologies B.V. in collaboration with the statistical genetics group of the LMU.
